The Want of a Tomorrow

On a desert island or a crowded city street

The cold in my heart, the ache in my feet

One among many or a single body all alone

The inability to change the tone

Couldn't matter less if I have in my heart

The want of a tomorrow, the hope for a new start

Whether I am surrounded by

Too much talk and too many why's

Or the want of a one to become a two

Whether I have or have not a single clue

I know it is true

None of it matters if I have in my soul

The want of a tomorrow, the yearning for that extra stroll

It may be dark and dreary

The wind may howl eerily

The absence of light and cheer

May make one fear

But it couldn't matter less if I have in me

The want of a tomorrow, the want for me to be
