Waiting

One year's passed,

one dreadful year of sadness and longing,

like being underwater for 12 months,

the noises and experiences muffled and insignificant,

seems as if he has been on a years vacation,

waiting for his return,

waiting for his warm and safe embrace,

waiting for our late evenings of fishing on the pond,

waiting for the fall days when we roasted marshmellows and talk,

waiting on him,

so we can all press play on our lives again,

wishing for him,

the praiser of straight A's,

the amazing husband to my grandma,

the teller of great stories,

the one we all strive to be like,

my late grandfather.
