This Valentines

Location

By chance, I could be alone.

Every blink, sparks darkness.

Lip movement turns laconic

Shortening by breath,

Until I have reached silence.

Ones cavalier eyes not only traces

Passing bodies but also

Closes to the sight of love.

To hear the constant rancorous annoyance

Throughout these closed school walls

Send signals up my spine that impugns

My hate for this man made holiday.

Some are cautious because of my nefarious attitude.

Others question my mind,

But you,

You greet me with a smile, hug me like it’s your last, whisper like everyone’s listening but on this day it makes me want to do nothing but carve bellicose scars

Around the ribs, hoping I reach your heart.

If you told me you love me

I'd smirk because it’s all just a coincidence.

Instead, you flower my darkness with light until

I’m a firm believer

I dodge your poetic words, mix match dance moves, dehydrated screams; however I wouldn’t deny a goodbye kiss.

You,

The only reason I raise my right eyebrow,

Could say nothing but hello

And constantly run through my mind.

But not this valentine.

I’d rather choose my arm

As the only thing to be by my side.
