The Vale Of Fears

Location

Sealed lips

Eyes to the floor
Hands in lap
Knees together
shoulders slumped
This is the position I stay in
When under the watchful eye of the public
I make no move to raise my hand in class
I do not speak up when someone makes a joke
Even though deep down
I want to stand up
And shout what I believe in
To stand proud on my soap box
And call people out on their wrongs
But fear festers in my heart
And seals my lips
Fear of judgement
Fear of laughter
Fear of being bullied for my beliefs
Can silence even the most passionate of hearts
