Until the day it all changed

Location

She used to be the girl wrapping up school lunch to take home

She used to be the girl who never had new clothes

She used to be the girl who needed help

They are the family that sleeps hungry

They are the family that sacrifices health for survival

They are the family that needs a change

Until the day it all changed

There she was, the girl that was never seen

There she stood, on new land

There she saw, her new home

There he was, the place she never thought she'd go

There he stood, the building she would reside in

There he would always be, her new home

Statistics said these two would never meet

Statistics said these two weren't meant to be

Statistics said she couldn't make it

Little did they know how hard she had worked

Little did they know her true potential

Little did they know she would be the change

Her first steps into him were frightening

Her first steps into him were the first of her family to walk

Her first steps into him were the foundation of a new family history

She knew they were meant to be

She knew they had to be

She knew they were.

The key is to never be afraid of being the first

Her key is to never back down, no matter how difficult

His key is to be her challenge

Their key is to keep moving

First generation, out of few

First college student, out of many

First graduation, out of all
