The Unknown Girl

Location

United States

Under the surface
Resides an unknown girl
Different from the one exposed to the world
I hide her inside
where no one can see
But this girl, the one trapped beneath the surface, is the real me.
I hide from the world
For the fear of their judgmental eyes
That would take one glance and cast me aside
Hard to trust
To show what is inside
When we live in this cruel reality

Under the surface
Resides an unknown girl
Just watching-watching
Hoping
Praying
To be exposed to the world
