The unknown

As I grow older, things become more and less important to me. Some people can’t live without their technology, and some can’t live without money, or power.

One day I was flying out of the United states for the first time. I was flying to my motherland, Africa. It’s pitch black, my eyelids are shut, I’m not fully aware of what’s going on, but I’m scared. Everyone on the plane being jerked around, people knocking into each other, children screaming. We are hurtling towards the ground.

DAMN! I think to myself I should’ve just stayed in the United states, what was the rush to get to Africa? SPLASH! We land into the ocean. I see people dead and some clinging on to life, I begin to swim towards wherever my gut tells me there’s land. I managed to grab my water pump that pumps in seawater in one tube and pumps out fresh water out the other side.

I know that may seem like a weird thing that I can’t live without, but I really can’t live without it. It’s saved me plenty of times when I’ve been stranded out on sea without fresh water and it has saved me when I was hiking somewhere and needed water crucially. My fresh water pump will help me live forever and I will never die of thirst. My water pump is my best friend.
