The Underwater Dancer

Thu, 08/17/2017 - 16:54 -- Jhazmin

With fiery red hair

she slices through the water

Her dance is her heart's song

The words know only of her

Her home, family, friends

Her beginning and possible ends

She twirls, she leaps, she swims

But it's not enough

The waves will knock her down

To rocks, dull and rough

But if she had legs

To dance

Like all the humans above

 Could dance

Oh all that she'd give

to dance

Like They Did

So away she swam

A voice for a chance

Towards a human man

With a dazzling smile

Her dance was bright

 And filled with love

But that wasn't enough

For her beloved

He wanted a voice

He wanted a wife

He wanted a queen

To hold every night

So away she danced

From her fairy tale prince

To dance a dance

Of her independence

But if she had her voice

To say

Like the other human girls

Could say

Oh all that she would give

To say

I Love You
