A Tuesday Morning

A Tuesday morning,
at the crack of dawn.
Step onto the scales,
keep in the yawn.

A Tuesday morning,
it’s the dreaded day.
I do not want to know,
how much I weigh.

A Tuesday morning,
the burden of the scale.
Afraid, alone,
tucked in is my tail.

A Tuesday morning,
I am so ashamed.
The weights jotted down,
by a nurse unnamed.

A Tuesday morning,
is too much to bear,
Will I weigh less,
If I cut my hair?

A Tuesday morning,
the dreaded day.
Today I found out,
the burden I weigh.
