True Rarity

There was a flower

Not yet bloomed, still a bud

Closed off from everything and everyone

Waiting to bloom

Every minute and hour

She wished to be like the others

Full grown and mature

A beautiful sight and a great rarity to be

It was long when the realization came

Nothing ever changed

For a bud turns into a rose

And a rose with age withers like dust

Behind the smiles there was always a beautiful flower

The bud was only the beautiful beginning

The beautiful beginning of change that came with time

Spiritual growth

And self love

For it was after growth when the flower found

That she had waited all her life to change into what she became

But never truly understood that even before, she was already

A true rarity
