The True Me

Early on the sky was dark

Hints of navy on a horizon

She laughed and stars shined forth

Illuminating all

Then came the dull sparks of flame

The muted hues of a pale sunrise

Darkened storms masking light

Hiding beauty from sight

Light crashed and wind roared

The sky a fury whipping through

Temporary though just as cruel

Sapping the world from light

Dusk broke through the scattered clouds

A blazing show of crimson gold

The glory free after pouring rain

He was a rainbow sunset
