True Friends

True Friends

Mine don’t speak the same language

The ones that do, they aren’t the same

Can’t understand me the way the others do, I’m different at school.

I can’t be open when I can’t communicate my feelings with words

My true friends can’t speak my language

But they can tell how I feel just by being near me

My true friends make me happy, no matter what kind of mood I’m in before I see them

They make me glow

No matter how bad my day has been

My true friends bring out my real personality,

I don’t have to explain for them to get me,

And they don’t have to speak to make me feel happy

Around my true friends, I am always happy.

My true friends pull me out from behind the curtain

They know me

And I’m comfortable stepping away from the curtain hiding me, to be myself
