The Transformation

In the beginning, there was peace

There was friends, playfulness

There was religion, purpose

In the beginning, there was love

From family, friends

From books, fantasies

In the beginning, there was pain

There was longing, heartache

There was paranoia, insecurity

There was, in the middle, a light

A person, reaching out

A friend, lifting up

There was, in the middle, an example

There was kindness, love

There was heroism, goodness

There was, in the middle, inspiration

To live a different life

To be a better person

There was change in the end

There was clarity, truth

There was righteousness, kindness

There was maturity in the end

A brighter understanding

A higher tolerance of life

There was me in the end

There was a 17 year old girl

There was a grown up individual

In the beginning, in the middle, in the end

There was me
