trail of tears

This land is your land This land is my land

but in reality who land is it?

Last time i checked it was land of the natives

or atleast i thought we were there first

I am native to the cherokee tribe

Where they took our land

while we kept our pride

forced to walk 1,000 miles

as we watched our loved ones die

Back then the white man had all the say

actually back then is similar to today

where actions are driven by greed

which is why the cherokee plead

for there land that was stolen or even better jacked

but the white man saw gold and would never give it back

They looked to the spirits and asked for strength

and the spirits responded with a rose as a gift

You can never forget about the Cherokee flower

where the white rose represented a mothers tears

where the gold center represented the gold taken from us over the years

and the seven leaves for each of the seven clans that survived the trail in fear

so who is to blame after all these years

for the tragedies that occurred on the Trail of Tears
