There's a little girl crying

There's a little girl crying in the corner
She's got bruises all over
Daddy's snorting on the couch
Momma shot up and passed out
Her baby's all alone
with no one to hug and hold

Little Billy working hard
He found something better than playing cards
He's stealing all he can get
trying to save up for the next hit
He needs help with his issues
But snitches get stitches

Everyone is crying
Someone's sister is dead
Someone's baby overdosed
Someone's dad is being buried
They got caught up in a drug
It was their own grave they dug
But now the casket is left for friends
Loved ones have to bury them in the end

This is a problem that still exists
This is a problem that will persist
That's someone's baby shooting
That's someone's brother snorting crack
Someone's niece is popping pills
Someone's loved one is being killed

If one thing could be changed
No matter how big or small
I say drugs wouldn't exist
People and drugs can't coexist
All these problems will persist
Because drug dealers still exist
Seven days out of the week
they prey on the weak
