The Tango of the Waves

There is an ocean before me,

Waves dancing and touching,

As if they were old lovers,

Their romance grand.

The breezes are soft,

And they kiss my skin,

Then leave me once more,

Like a one night stand.

I’m stuck on island,

Deserted, alone.

No one around me,

While I sit on the sand.

I’ve always been alone,

This is nothing new,

But I have my best friend,

My journal in hand.

The pages, they listen.

The words, they flow.

And it catches my lonely teardrops,

As the waves catch each other,

Another round of the tango.
