Talking to the Mirror

How can I trust you?

After all the lies you have told

How I can trust you?

After the truth you have spoken

How can I trust you?

After you told me you wouldn’t be there?

How can I trust you?

After the lies you told about your friends?

How can I trust you?

When I can’t even trust myself?

How can I trust you?

The person who hurt me the most?

How can I trust you?

The person I once called friend?

How can I trust you?

How?

I sit in this room

Staring at you

Wondering how

I can call you my friend

After what you have done

We are quite

We don’t say a word

Maybe…..

It would just be best

If we didn’t have any friends at all

No one to hurt us

No one to share our pain

we would carry our own burdens

And  wouldn’t hurt others in anyway

How can you trust me?

After the lies I’ve told?

The secrets I’ve held

The pain I’ve caused?

How can you proudly call me your friend?

When I am just me?

There is nothing special about me?

Why do you care?

What happens to me?

You told me to go

To leave you alone

That you wouldn’t help me anymore

That I am on my own

So why try to take back those truthful words

And repair it with kindness

I am nothing but a burden

To anyone who helps

So tell me

How can I trust you?

And more importantly

How can you trust me?
