Surrender

The night creeps on my blackened heart with a viscious roar

The violet clouds of confession

bringing a familiar piercing pain

As the rain begins to fill my soul with sorrow and tears,

the flash of hope fades

while the screams of thunder crash and burn below my feet.

The whistles of the wind caress my body in an icy embrace

breathless, gasping for air,

I surrender
