Supression

Location

I saw your face.

I didn’t want to,

Nor did I look for it,

But it was there.

I saw your face.

It was just a picture on a screen

But I could feel your stare

Deep past the barbed wire fence

Surrounding my heart and protecting my soul

Deep past the one thing I thought could hold

You out, but still you found a way in,

And as your stare climbed my fence

The wire tore skin

And I bled.

I bled every feeling I thought I let go

And it dripped and it dripped

Painfully slow.
