The Sublime Beauty of Woman

Location

Australia

The sublime beauty of woman

bearing the sorrow of her clan

Heart cloaked in unseen sorrow

Hoping for a sweeter morrow

Holding the tears as you weep

Softly in your mind to keep

The pain of lonely days at bay

Pining for loved ones who did stray

Stronger in spirit than any man

Able to do whatever you can

To maintain what appears lost

Little regard to your own cost

Mere men we stand in mute awe

Of a woman’s resilience we saw

An eternal love never to be bought

Amid words said without thought

Time heals all you must believe

Though it can be hard to perceive

Your inner beauty will prevail

Over pain inflicted by any male

Forever wonderous and transcendent

Perpetually tenacious and independent

Eternally the touchstone of selfish man

Everlasting is the sublime beauty of a woman

Thank you

The Sublime Beauty of Woman was written for my daughter, but is actually for all women who bear the pain their partners sometimes inflict unintentionally (AND intentionally) and to show that women have an inner strength that males simply cannot match.
