Striving

Location

I push and I push,

my endurance is fierce,

the knife of disappointment slowly begins to pierce.

There I go again, failing once more,

though each time I strive more than I did before.

You tell yourself stories,

of possibilities to succeed,

but still in your mind,

your thoughts begin to weep.

I'm striving, I'm trying,

but I yearn to give up,

but how could I let this go?

Of something I truly love.

The devil's demons whisper,

"there is no hope, why do you try?"

My soul aches uncontrollably,

I ignore the demons as I cry.

But still I'm striving,

for something richer than now,

now I can say,

I'm finally learning to know how.
