A Strength You Can't Slaughter
Location
Crowding the streets
Boycotting the bus
Any action that could draw attention to us
We will do it rushed
To try and budge out of this rut
You spawned our figures with your hateful slurs
Malcolm X or Maya, both molded by those words that you'd spit and stir
You were their fuel and nurturer
By then they couldn't be deterred
We will not be torn with our poster boards
Vandalize one and we'll make millions more
We will not rest in our Sabbath best
Sunday has become a day for protest
Gas mask monsters with doberman hogs
Strike us with batons while we try to walk on
In the Selma march to the capital of wrongs
Jazz coated terms, Harlem arts and herds
Our sub-nation was bursting with vibrance and verve
A strength you can't slaughter or massacre
And that endeavor will never work
