Stranger

Location

India

Not very often a stranger becomes an integral part of our lives
Is there a better illustration of this truth than the pandemic Corona
Eight billion people of world are facing every day, every hour, every minute
Who would have thought a stranger will make our lives upside down
When we had the first glimpse of the stranger we barely noticed it
We proved wrong in estimating how long it will stay put here
It didn't only exceed her stay but spread in every available space
We tried everything that was possible to kick the stranger out
Lockdown, social distancing, vaccine everything failed to beat it
This is as nasty a stranger that can ever be imagined
In last over nine months it has crushed lives and livelihoods
It changed everything like nothing did in last over thousand years
How much I miss my old world that the stranger destroyed
Hello stranger! You stayed more than we ever we wished
It's time to say goodbye, the world was better off without you
