Aren't we just statistics

In the sadistic game of life?

 

Black men are nearly three times as likely to be killed by legal intervention than white men.

40% of trans adults have attempted suicide, 92% of these people did it before they were 25.

1 in 5 women will be raped at some point in their lives.

These numbers cut away at us like swords,

As we move towards the truth.

 

It’s so easy to disregard some ink

To distance yourself

“That will never affect me”

But everything collides in unexpected ways

So maybe we shouldn’t sit here in a passive laze

Ash Haffner committed suicide

My president gropes women

There are faces, don't you realize,

Buried within all these cases.

Not just that one number on your screen

No single story exists

Even within the twist-ed rhythm of reality
