Stand Up

Pop goes the bubble.

Away goes the ability to ignore.

Ignorant,

Naive,

Selfish,

Good intentions,

Not good enough,

A moderate.

What goes around comes around

Your child is no longer around

Those in power just sit around

And those with the ability to vote them out do the same.

Why?

News flashes on, 17 dead.

Why? Why?

17 million American children go to school,

trying to focus, and learn,

unfed.

Why? Why? Why?

Another black boy gone

Actions without consequences,

a familiar song.

Sit down- you say

I’m not into politics.

Stand up- I say

Check your privilege.
