Spoken or Written

       These words are mine,
Written before you as they are me,
Saying nothing yet saying something,
About whom I am and claim to be.
The interworkings of a mind sheltered,
Shielded by my skeleton and skin.
To read these words are to read me,
To see me, and to understand me,
And by this truth it is clear: words are important,
Whether spoken, written, or thought.
