Soulmate

My life, my soul, my heart, my whole is claimed.

As long as day precedes the night it's here.

It plagues me, saves me from a worser fate.

As long as night precedes the day it's near.

It weaves itself inside the clothes I wear,

I swirl it in the water that I drink,

It joins the wind that dances through my hair,

I wrap it ‘round my finger as I think.

No friend or spouse can ever claim my heart,

For music's always kept it from the start.
