A Sonnet To Remember Me
Location
It’s sometimes hard to fathom the worth of
This warm gray chunk of meat between my ears
This beast in my ribcage that conveys love
The core of my being formed o’er the years
It’s hard to mass valuations of folk
I want to live in a world where we don’t
Categ’rize individuals in bulk
I doubt if my breath matters, though it won’t
Not in the long run, in thousands of years
In this cruel madness the world will become
When I’m long gone and I’ve achieved my fears
And the cold categorizers have won
Might I matter in this cent’ry’s mania
Past the sunrises of next millennia
