Sonnet 7: To be owned by you is my dark wish

To be ownéd by you is my dark wish,
Sweet man who has power to bid me his will,
And protect me from those who’d demolish
My heart and send my world into a hell.
I do not care what the radicals say,
As a woman I am completed by man;
Like pieces of a puzzle meet halfway,
I will be yours if being mine you stand.
But will I go too far and risk myself?
I am afraid I do not know the line
Between sweet love and wounding my own self;
So you see why I fear to call you mine?
So all I ask of you is precious time;
Time to search for inspiration sublime.
