A Soldier's Heart
So much is different,
Happiness is such an expensive rent,
You expect me to be calm,
To apply over these wounds a healing balm?
How much more for this soldier to lose?
How much can be asked?
So little, can this pain be soothed,
When under this patch is pain unmatched, masked!
My child, struck down,
Why do you think I frown?
Do you expect me to show them mercy,
For the pain they have caused?
But I am a kind soul, surely!
Indeed, and that has heard much applause,
But this world needs not a hero,
Who throws flowers and caresses,
But a champion!
Let me clean up my brother's messes,
Feel my roar, roar of the Black Lynx, louder than any lion!
