A Smile For Me

Fri, 10/10/2014 - 17:01 -- GLyda

You close the door, and fall on your knees

Just got home, what a day this was,

Tired, Hungry, Sagging in your own skin.

What's that smell? Wafting toward your nose, a scent on the breeze.

Ahhh... your favorite meal.

But it's not just the scent of those homemade enchiladas,

No. That scent is more - that scent brings life to your tired body, energy and vigor.

Rest, and hope.

That though this day has spent you, has drained you of all life, there is something more.

Mom smiles warmly at you from the kitchen.

That smile is brighter than the sun, more meaningful than any treasure.

"How was your day?" she asks you.

The real you deep down inside. For she sees all of you.

The corners of your mouth twitch,

Her smile, becoming yours.

Shedding the day away.

In her smile you find love.
