A Smile from a Friend

Some days I fly like a rocket in the sky,

While some I fall in the gutter of despair;

But on these days I will always try to spy

A glimpse of hope, finding something that is fair.

When I am sad as a mucky little pond

I reach for help and am saved from sorrow by

Those friends of whom I am really rather fond,

Who smile at me and a mass of joy supply.

O dearest friends! Have you seen from any view

What good your smiles do for all of those like me?

My jubilee was restored because of you;

Thanks to this sunshine, my life is full of glee!
