Sinking down into blue deep.

Location

Sinking down into blue deep,

Strong currents make his glum surroundings so cold.

The ocean hides the tears that he tries to weep.

He had tried to resurface, but the strife was so steep.

Giving up, he accepts his fate now behold,

Sinking down into blue deep.

Into his lungs the water begins to seep,

With the last sigh he will ever take, his eyes begin to fold.

The ocean hides the tears that he tries to weep.

Ever closer approaching abyss, the pressure starts to heap.

Falling into his end, he muses to whom his soul is sold.

Sinking down into blue deep.

Was his life well spent, or was it miserly cheap?

He thinks of love and of stories--unremembered, untold.

The ocean hides the tears that he tries to weep.

At last, he fades away into an eternal sleep.

His last thought is a dream, of how he so longed to grow old.

Sinking down into blue deep,

The ocean hides the tears that he tries to weep.
