She Said

She said to me
that the whole world
was sitting in the palm
of my hand.

I told her
the Earth
was far too heavy
for me to hold;
that I would drop
the world
to the floor
if it sat in my palm.

And she said nothing,
pressing her fingers on mine,
and curling them
around the globe.

"Maybe this world
holds more than
you know"
