She Let Him Go

Was I too small?

Was your soul dying too fast?

What were you saving me from?

Your tears?

Your hate?

Your failure?

While you lay on that table

Covered in the white sheet

I will scream for the only one

I ever knew to love

Lungs too small

I’m dying too fast

Save me from this place

You were supposed to be the safest place on earth

You were supposed to love me

And I already loved you

You sleep

I panic

He kills

Love?

As your heart beats from below

Now mine beats from above
