She

I am that. A female

But that’s all you see

You see my body and crave it

Yet if I give it to you I’m a “slut”

And if you see my body I’m a “whore”

But if I cover up I’m a prude

You don’t hear my words

You only hear sex when I open my mouth

You don’t look in my eyes and see the moon

Or beauty or my soul

You see lust.

Tell me who I am supposed to be

Because my words don’t matter

No one listens to girls saying

“Fuck the patriarchy”

Something that we as girls are apart of

That we participate in,

cuz there is no escape.

I am only an object to you

Nothing more.

Why can’t I be more
