The day was normal fair and blue,
We went on like nothing was new
We attended work and school
We never knew that day would be cruel

Then the blue was replaced with black
We will never get that day back
The sight of flames was imprinted forever in our minds,
So was the mess the terrorists left behind.

The streets and sky were covered in smoke
Which made all of us choke
Forcing back the tears that we shed
Because so many people bled.

Terror struck us all
To watch our strongest city fall
It made us humble
To see our country stumble

They took our husbands, wives and friends
Moms and dad without amends,
Leaving Children on their own
To face their future all alone

We will remember that faithful mourn
When our Country was torn,
We will fight to the death
To takeback the victims stolen breath

This poem was really emotional for me to write. It is my favorite one I have written so far.
