Selfie

Location

Every store, show, event-- everytime anything exciting appears

Let me take a selfie.

When did these words become such a despreate part of life?

When did engaging in social time become selfie time?

When did taking a picture become a by myself time?

Selfies have taken the person out of the equation

If you mess up, oh just take another, or another, or another

Just keep going until you find one where you look "good"

Gone are the days of unadulterated photos

Once more you check your phone just to make sure you "like" how you look

Let me tell you,

You look fine, but that is because you are you

You don't need the "best" picture

You don't need the "best" angle

You don't need to filter your color

You look perfect the way you are

Oh but now the lighting has changed

I understand I'm perfect and, but first

Let me take a selfie
