The Seeker
Walking down a road that parts at every milestone.
Not knowing where or even if it ever ends.
Taking hints left by the leaves
as the wind dances them down a noble path.
Some turns on the path reveal wonders of the unknown.
A stream glimmering against the sunlight,
blinding the sight from a whole new world that may exist across the bend.
A cozy cave from which warmness and light glow against the cold outdoors,
beckoning all the nomads inside.
A loud waterfall, hiding what may be treasure behind its curtain of falling water.
Each of these leave a desire to abandon the path.
Other turns churn the memory into nostalgia.
The trees along the trail sway, as though welcoming their long lost friend.
The flowers whisper known words, echoing what was said in a previous life.
Even the little critters of the forest greet and embrace in the most familiar way.
The heart pulls, begging to stay with those that seem to be kin.
These turns also leave a desire to abandon the path.
Yet, there is no stopping
and there is no straying
for the seeker.
