i've always been a writer

i know characters more than myself

vivid fantasies in my head

will become realities on the screen,

i want to be a screenwriter.

movies may not cure cancer

they may not end the wars between nations

but they may brighten the day of the suffering person

and they can form a universal language

that brings peace for just a moment

i want to share what is in my head

with those watching it on a screen

in hopes that it connects with something inside of them, too

i want to be a screenwriter.
