Scratch

In a head full of madness

Your spell felt like sedation

I watched a bridge form from weariness

To pure adoration

Love has an insatiable thirst

Our well is running dry

The weather could take a turn for the worst

But then again a cloud could fill our sky

And in that room of hope I live

Hoping for one more day

Like a summer breeze I take you in

And get lost in your bay

It’s the little things I can’t get back

The wounds that make me crack

I’ve seen soldiers die from gunshots

Well this one got killed by a scratch

The cancer is taking over

Words of hate fill my mouth

In the well I look for closure

But I find reality spilling out
