Roller Coaster
The adrenaline builds.
Starting deep within,
Climbing and rising
until,
I begin to feel it.
Pupils dilating, hands shaking, mind racing…
And then,
All at once,
I fall.
I plummet into the deep unknown,
Turning and turning.
The excitement intensifies.
I begin to feel it expand,
Rising up from my lungs, my throat.
And finally,
A scream.
There is a moment,
A heart stopping moment,
Of weightlessness.
The world stops.
My thoughts, my actions, my universe,
All stops.
In this moment,
This minute or second,
I am alive.
