I'm losing weight because

you only love me for my skeleton,

on my ribs you carve ampersands,

because my life is nothing

without your "and's."

"And the others are prettier,

the others are wise."

They don't have to wear a guise,

just to talk, to say, "yeah, I'm fine."

"You're losing awful fast."

"That's alright."

"You're about to cry."

"And I'm fine."

But my body cries because I'm not,

your hunger has left me here to rot.
