Rewriting you.
Location
They say you spend your whole life rewriting the first poem you ever loved.
With you, my dear, you were my first poem.
I remember the way I said I loved you, I remember the way you shrugged.
The way my heart was stolen.
By you; my lover, my life, you taught me love.
I remember the way you smiled at me, your skin was as soft as Dove.
Alas; they said your first love never lasts
And neither did this one, as I was your first too.
We just drifted away, took different paths.
You stopped talking to me, and I figured that was my que.
My que to leave, to stray, to forget.
Yet you never ended up being something I would regret.
And so I had to learn to get along.
Without you, of course, it was so hard.
I felt like a loner, I felt like I didn't belong.
Anywhere, to be exact, and maybe that's why I became a bard.
To rewrite about you, my old love, my old life.
I spend all this time, writing about how I wanted to be your wife.
And so I do rewrite the first poem I loved, just so that it would match with you
To rewrite our relationship, it would've just been us two.
I rewrite the first poem I ever loved, just so I could feel close to you.
And yet, I never come close... Close to the feeling of it being true....
