Reverie
This golden-haired girl won’t wake tonight
Or ever
Kisses cannot convince
Nor can spells stir
For blissful somnolence blurs the thorns that adorn the wall of the castle
And of my mind
One brush of chapped lips cannot convince me
To leave this dream and plunge headlong into the waking nightmare that is my reality
I was predistend to fall, to lose the kingdom
Over a simple spindle
A sixteen-year-old’s mistake
Brought the world shattering down
Why would I ever leave
My reverie?
