Repent and Repair

Location

I was sitting in church in the very last pew,

With hate in my heart towards the church where I grew

I didn’t hear much in the sermon today,

But I heard enough to where I couldn’t stay

The preacher went on about how Jesus saves;

He heals the wounded and comforts the brave.

I left because I knew that pastor was right,

The things that I thought were just dark thoughts, no light

I drove to the bar and deleted my tab,

That was the reason that I was so sad.

I went to the shelf and pulled down magazines,

The pictures in there were for no eyes to see.

While weeping and crying, I grabbed my old Bible,

The sadness I had was replaced with a smile.

I go to the church every chance that I can,

And thank the Lord, Jesus, the devil can’t win.
