Living life behind the disguise
of an eternal #realityfilter
Portraying a face as black and white
Which hide the true colors of myself
But behind the eyes of misleading perception
Is a person who dreams of forgetting perfection
A human being whose make-up clean face
Reflects the vulnerability of her
naked hopes and dreams
Which are kept in secret, sacred places
Like my forsaken, solitary shoebox
Of picture-perfect memories
That refuse to be covered with
#distortingfilters
This is the real me
That I don't have to pretend to be
