reality ever after

And they lived happily ever after

Or at least that’s what they wanted us to believe

You grow up and realize that doesn’t exist

Cinderella was a fraud

Made us believe we’d find that one prince

That prince? Is a liar, a cheater.

Always texting other girls trying to see if the shoes fit them

That carriage? It’s a used 2001 Honda

Looks more like the mice than the magic

Fairy god mothers? More like angry landlords.

Always there to remind you when the time is up.

I always believed we would have a happy ending

But it’s not real, that’s why it’s called a

Tale

Telling us of a world that could never be.
