In a world of grey,
The dull charcoal of a city sidewalk,
Life bursts through.
Small and insignificant.
And from the cracks,
Color seeps.
A million shades,
And one of them, I.
But even upon this rainbow,
I am unique.
Unseen.
Without a name,
Or a letter.
The charcoal world,
Hateful of the rainbow.
Devouring,
Or attempting to,
The life it has given birth to.
And yet,
When it comes to me,
It pauses.
It has not been given
Eyes with which to see me.
Physically unfit
To understand
The color that I am.
