Protection From the World

Location

Somewhere inside of here

Is that sweet girl with sandy brown hair,

Living happily with no fears,

Trusting everyone that comes near.

But most never get the chance to meet this girl

Because she was introduced to the real world.

This happened at a very young age

When she lost her grandmother in the second grade.

After this things just got worse;

Like her father's hurtful, angry words.

Murders and heartbreaks added agony

Now what everyone sees...is me

A girl who doesn't know what trust is

And only has a few real friends- mostly acquaintances.

Even still I am considered the happy one,

But it's a mask so people don't ask questions.

The me you see has to protect that little girl

So she won't be corrupted by the real world.
